About the Talk
On November 7th 2024, David Bevan will give an introductory talk on secular process philosophy. The ontological task of process philosophy has profound implications for our understanding of existence. By emphasising the dynamic nature of reality, process philosophers challenge traditional metaphysical frameworks that posit fixed substances as the foundation of being. Instead, they propose a vision of the world in which everything is in a constant state of flux, with entities emerging, evolving, and passing away. This perspective has implications for various philosophical disciplines, including ontology, ethics, and theology. It offers a framework for understanding change, novelty, and creativity in the universe, as well as the interconnectedness of all things.
